I have never really thought about buying expensive sunglasses. I’m a simple girl, and I am pretty thrifty with my money. I don’t like spending a lot on things that aren’t important to me, so I never considered the “get what you pay for” mentality with glasses.
I have been through a lot of different sunglasses in my life, and after my last pair basically exploded on my head, my husband told me it was time to get a “real” pair!
I had never contemplated buying sunglasses that were beyond the $20 range, so the idea of making a real investment was kind of frightening. I started the search, but I didn’t know what I should be looking for, or what made sunglasses worth the investment. When you’re new to dropping money on something that cost you pennies before, it’s pretty easy to get overwhelmed.
I started compiling everything I found as my list got longer, and I eventually expanded it to glasses that would work for my husband and family as well. The more I looked, the more I learned about the difference between sunglasses that are worth the money and glasses that are just begging you to pay for the label.
As I looked around, I realized there is way more styles of sunglasses than I imagined. There are well-known ones and then slight variations of those that have different names and a ton of different other options. All of this became really important to my search, and I hope that by compiling it, I can help you sort through it all as well.
So, pull up a chair and slap on some shades. It’s going to get bright in here!
